Healthy Communities Hosting Narcan Training

Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition is hosting a free Naloxone (Narcan) Kit Training and Distribution for Lay Responders on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition Office at 1458 Oak Street, Suite C, in Frankfort.

There is a limited number of kits for distribution to lay responders. The Clinton County Health Department will provide the required training. Registration and follow up are also required.

Narcan is an opiate antidote. When a person is overdosing from an opioid it shuts down the central nervous system causing breathing to slow or stop. Narcan blocks the effects of the opioid and reverses the effects of an overdose.

If you have any questions on the training, contact Rodney Wann at 659-6385 or Lorra Archibald at 659-6063. This event is sponsored by the Clinton County Health Department in partnership with Healthy Communities of Clinton County.
