Healthy Communities Issue Statement About Services Available

Healthy Communities of Clinton County is still here to serve you during this time. Healthy Communities is currently operating with no office lobby hours, but we are continuing to do appointments through Zoom or other virtual platforms and social distancing appointments as needed. If a face to face appointment is required, we will do a COVID-19 pre-screening over the phone prior to your scheduled time, and practice social distancing during the appointment.

You can still receive free pregnancy tests and prenatal appointments through our Early Start program. If you are pregnant and are smoking or vaping, or were smoking or vaping in the three months prior to becoming pregnant, you could qualify for free diapers and wipes through our Baby and Me Tobacco Free Program. Both programs can be done virtually.

Our permanent car seat fitting station is continuing as normal. If you need a car seat check performed, we ask that when your scheduled appointment arrives, you only bring the child in the seat and the driver of the car. No other individuals should be present at the appointment and all educational materials regarding the car seat will be performed outside in order to keep us all as safe as possible. An over the phone pre-screening will be required prior to your scheduled
appointment. If you are in need of a new or replacement car seat, and you qualify for such, one can be provided for you.

Healthy Communities’ Covering Kids and Families program is available to help anyone with health insurance. If you have any questions or need help navigating the system, this program can help you. These appointments can be done over the phone with our navigators going to the DFR and other offices as needed as your representative.

Our victim advocate is still available for resources and assistance for anyone who has been a victim of domestic violence or child abuse. These resources can be provided almost all via a virtual platform or phone call.

Healthy Communities is here to continue to serve you and the community. If you call our office number at 765-659-6063 you will be able to leave a message that we check regularly and get back to you as soon as possible regarding any of the services above. Also on the message on our office phone there are phone numbers listed if you are in need of assistance right away. If you have any questions directly regarding COVID-19, please contact the Clinton County Call Center at 765-652-6501 during the hours of 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Stay safe and healthy and please stay at home unless you have an essential need! If you do have to leave your house, practice social distancing. We can all do our part to help stop the spread and be good stewards in our community!
