Healthy Communities of Clinton County has withdrawn their purchase offer for the First Baptist Church building located at 301 S. Columbia Street here in Frankfort due to financing. Healthy Communities was unable to secure the necessary financing to make the facility ADA compliant for medical use, which is required for many of their funding agencies.
“Healthy Communities will continue to work on pursuing a community center for health in the future as we know there is a great need for one in our community. We, at Healthy Communities, are very disappointed that this didn’t work out as we felt the size and location of the building was perfect,” stated Healthy Communities Executive Director, Lorra Archibald. She added, “we would like to thank the First Baptist Church for the opportunity to pursue purchasing their facility to better serve the community. They are an amazing group of people that want to serve and minister to the people of Frankfort and beyond. We wish them the best of luck.”
Healthy Communities will continue to operate in the facility provided by IU Health Frankfort Hospital at 1458 Oak St Suite B. Anyone interested in services can still stop at that location or call 765-659-6063 for an appointment.
