Healthy Communities Receives Grant To Improve Broadband Access & Promote Tech Literacy

Healthy Communities of Clinton County announced its receipt of funding in the amount of $28,850 from MHS Serves, which will be utilized to improve broadband access and promote tech literacy for the community.

MHS Serves, in partnership with Black Onyx Management and the Indiana Minority Health Coalition, stands as a statewide health equity fund that focuses on empowering communities through health equity-focused partnerships and innovations.

Utilizing the grant funding, Healthy Communities is expected to create a public computer lab at the office at 1234 Rossville Ave. in Frankfort, create a mobile computer lab for events with a public wifi hotspot hub and offer digital training programs for the community. All the services will be offered for free through the grant.

Healthy Communities is currently seeking community feedback to curate the most effective Digital Literacy course offerings. The courses will be held in Clinton County, but everyone has been invited to participate. The courses run from Basic Computing to AI Generation to Health Insurance to Taxes with every course lasting approximately 60 minutes.
