Heavy rain has caused the Clinton County Fair Council to reschedule Saturday evening’s Dirt Drags. The new date is Friday, September 21. Practice will begin at 5 p.m. and the actual drag racing will begin at 7 p.m. Fair Council member Kyle Russell worked with officials from KOI, the sanctioning body, to reschedule the event.
Council President Jamie Blacker said, “Rescheduling the dirt drags was necessary. The fairgrounds has received a lot of rain and, even with the improved infield drainage, we think the dirt track will not dry out enough to hold a successful event.”
Two other events scheduled for this weekend at the fairgrounds will be held as scheduled. The third annual 4-H Marketplace takes place Saturday from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. in Clinton Hall. Organizers say there will be many activities and opportunities for shopping.
The Indiana State Goat Association holds its state show on Saturday and Sunday. Activities and shows are scheduled for each day.
