Helen L. Wyant

Helen L. Wyant, 96, of Michigantown, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at her residence.  She was born October 29, 1923 in Hillisburg to Charles Oscar and Grace Maude (Gregg) Lewis.  She married Harold W. Wyant on April 1, 1945; he preceded her in death on October 26, 2011.

Helen graduated from Frankfort High School in 1942.  After graduation, she worked with her husband as a farm wife and in her later years worked for Wal-Mart and Big Lots.  She was a former member of Michigantown United Methodist Church and a current member of Michigantown Christian Church.  Helen raised chickens and was fondly referred to as “The Egg Lady”.  She proudly enjoyed mowing her yard until she was 93 years young.

Helen is survived by her two daughters; Trudy (Roy) Cheek and Diana (Fred) Richardson of Michigantown; three grandchildren, Tammy Davis, Troy (Kristen) Cheek, and Travis (Mindi) Cheek; and seven great-grandchildren; Anthony Michael T. Davis, Trace Wyant Cheek, Raigan Lynn Cheek, Kynlee Morgan Cheek, Trenton Wayne Cheek, Hayden Jeffrey Cheek, and Hanna Cathrine Cheek.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Bonnie; brother, Harold Dwayne Lewis; two grandchildren, Derick and Heather, and one grandson-in-law, Mike Davis.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  Randy Camden will officiate.  Burial will follow at Whiteman Cemetery.
