Helen M. Hemmerling 91, of Frankfort, Ind., died June 22, 2019 at 10:23 p.m. at Wesley Manor. She was born April 28, 1928 in Clinton County to John H. & Mary E. (Layton) Hill. She married Frank M. Hemmerling on June 7, 1952 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on July 17, 1992.
Mrs. Hemmerling attended Frankfort High School. She was a homemaker. She was a longtime member St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was active in the Rosary & Altar Society. She enjoyed cards, bingo, cooking and especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by: 2 Daughters: Susan Foresman of W. Lafayette and Mary Catherine Hemmerling of Frankfort, 2 Daughters-in-Law: Bonnie Hemmerling of Frankfort and Cheryl Hemmerling of Kalamazoo, MI, Sister: Patricia (Bill) Stoops of Chillicothe, Illinois, 2 Brothers: Larry (Judy) Hill of Shelbyville, KY and David (Kathy) Hill of Frankfort, Half-Sister: Freida Cosby of Brookville, OH, 10 Grandchildren: Jeremy (Michelle) Hemmerling, Christopher (Simone) Foresman, Amanda (John) Steward, Nicholas Foresman, Benjamin Hemmerling, Derek (Amanda) Hemmerling, P.J. (Lori) Hemmerling, Erin (Kevin) Eikenberry, Cody (Cynthia) Hemmerling and Jessie Hemmerling and 10 Great Grandchildren: Cole, Kennedy, Cian, Kinzleigh, Ava, Amara, Quincy, Truman, Jaden & Liam.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Steven & Peter Hemmerling, sister, Janet Douglas, brother, Harold Hill and half-brother, Howard Hill.
Funeral Celebration
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 5-7:30 p.m., with Rosary to follow at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 600 S. Mary’s Ave., Frankfort. Mass will be celebrated by Father Chris Miller. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
