Helen Marie Petre

Helen Marie Petre, 93, of Frankfort died December 24, 2021 in her home. She was born on February 26, 1928 in Boone County, Ind. to Joseph Clarence Corwin Sr. and Bernice Ruby (Eaton) Corwin.  She married Donald Leon Petre on April 1, 1949 in Lebanon and he preceded her in death on September 19, 1998.

Helen attended Lebanon Schools.  Before and after marriage, she worked for Boss Manufacturing Co.  She was a homemaker, sold Dutch Maid clothing and Home Interiors, worked for J&L Steel, home healthcare, housekeeping for Turtle Creek Apartments, Panke Machinery Corp. for 5 years and was the Receptionist for C&T Hair for 30 years.  As a believer in the Lord, she was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and the Hopewell Friendship Club/Class.   She loved to read and play cards and was a member of several Euchre clubs in Mechanicsburg, Frankfort, Kirklin, and Michigantown.

She is survived by her Son:  Robert L. “Bob” Petre (Fiancé: Marlene) of Michigantown, Daughters:  Donna Jean (Damon) Ridenour of Rural Frankfort, Tina Marie (Jim) Shaffner of Frankfort, Grandchildren:  Cory Lee Ridenour of Rural Frankfort, Robert John Petre of Michigantown, Natacha Marie Petre of Illinois, Alysse Camille Ridenour of West Lafayette, Great-Grandchildren:  Jayden Petre, Keedyn Petre, Meaira Ridenour, and Olivia Frye and Sister:  Fern Curry of Columbus, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, son: Terry Lee “Big T” Petre, son-in-law: Brian Scott Imel, daughter-in-law: Carol Petre, grandson: Hagan Robert Petre, brother: Joseph Clarence Corwin, sisters: Mabel Irene Saulsberry, Roberta Bessie Summers, and Mary Louise Lewis.

Funeral Services:

 Friends may visit ­­­­­­1-3 p.m. on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 3460 East County Rd. 500 North, Frankfort.  Funeral Service will begin at 3 p.m. Friday at the church.  Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery, Frankfort, Indiana.  Memorial donations in memory of Helen may be made to the Hopewell United Methodist Church.  Envelopes will be available at the church.  Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S.
