Helicopter Incident Being Investigated at XPO Logistics

At approximately 1:26 p.m. Sunday, the Lebanon Police Department, Lebanon Fire Department, Center Township Fire Department, and Boone County EMS were dispatched to XPO Logistics, located at 135 South Mt. Zion Road, for a possible helicopter crash.

Arriving officers located a 1958 Sikorsky S-58JT Helicopter that had come into contact with a semi-trailer that was parked on the west side of XPO Logistics.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the Sikorsky was owned by Midwest Helicopter Airways, Inc (Willowbrook, IL) and was being flown by Pilot Randy A.
McCormick, 50 years-old from Manteno, Illinois and had two additional crew members on board the aircraft. After landing, the blades on the Sikorsky struck the empty semi-trailer, sending debris in the adjacent parking lot and drives. There was an additional semi-trailer and three (3) passenger cars that were struck by debris.

McCormick suffered minor injuries in this incident. There were no other injuries as a result of this incident. This incident is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board
