Hickory Harvest Scheduled for Colfax on October 13

This is a picture of the Rosenberger Building where the Colfax Historical Society would like to build a local history museum within.

The Colfax Historical Society will be hosting a history-themed festival called “The Hickory Harvest” on October 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Colfax-Perry Township Public Library and surrounding areas.

There will be a plethora of events and vendors. Some of the highlights include a historical hayride through Colfax, demonstrations by the Wabash Weaver’s Guild and Tippecanoe Power and Steam Association, musical performances by The Back Porch Pickers, The Smartsburg Pickers, Toby Raab on the hammered dulcimer. There will also be a very special appearance by the Tippecanoe Ancient Fife and Drum Corps sponsored by Kaspar Media and Susan Kaspar State Farm Insurance in memory of Vern Kaspar.

The Perry Township Fire Department will also be hosting a freewill ham and beans dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, contact Patricia Eaton at 765-426-2681 or call the library at 765-324-2915.
