The Lafayette Farmers Market is in the running to be named Indiana’s best farmers market in the 2026 Indiana Grown Ultimate Farmers Market Challenge, and community members are encouraged to help support the historic market by casting their votes.
The Lafayette Farmers Market is one of more than 50 markets statewide nominated in this year’s competition. Voting is open now through Wednesday, August 5, and supporters can vote once each day by visiting Indiana Grown and selecting the Lafayette Farmers Market.
Established in 1839, the Lafayette Farmers Market is one of Indiana’s oldest continuously operating farmers markets. Organized by Greater Lafayette Commerce, the market provides fresh produce, homemade goods, and locally made products to residents throughout Greater Lafayette.
The market operates every Saturday from May through October on 5th Street between Ferry and Columbia streets in downtown Lafayette. Shoppers can visit from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and explore offerings from more than 120 vendors each week.
More information about the market can be found at Lafayette Farmers Market.
The winning market will be announced on Saturday, August 8, closing out National Farmers Market Week, August 2–8.
Community members are encouraged to vote daily through August 5 and help the Lafayette Farmers Market bring home the title of Indiana’s Ultimate Farmers Market.
