Hot Dogs Hammer Clinton Prairie

Austin Penry fanned 10 over four innings of work to lead Frankfort to a 16-1 victory over Clinton Prairie on Saturday.

The junior varsity followed with a17-3 win over the Gophers. Lucas Waggoner pitched four strong innings for the win. Alexis Sandoval had two hits and drove in four runs for Frankfort.

Earlier in the week, Brayan Valdez earned the win with five innings of the mound as Frankfort defeated Rossville 3-1. Oscar Lopez and Alex Lopez each pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

FHS Boys’ Track

The Frankfort boys’ team began the year with a triangular victory against Western Boone and Clinton Prairie.

Frankfort was  lead by strong performances by Aidan and Ethan Hudspith in the Pole Vault, Jakob Burns in the 100 and discus, Garek Birge in the 300 hurdles, Chris Angeles in the 3200, Mauro Lopez in the 400 and the 4×4 relay team of Garek Birge, Mauro Lopez, Alex Lopez, and Angel Perez.

FHS Girls’ Track

The girls team lost but started the year with a lot of strong individual performances.  Jocelyn Ramirez started her season strong in the high jump, Lexi Reed Gill had a great start to the season in the long jump and 300 hurdles and Noemi Garcia and Ashley Vasquez Rivera had great times in their distance events.

Clinton Central Softball

Cascade took advantage of wind blowing out with four homers in a 16-0 shutout victory on Saturday.

Landree Whiteman went 2 for 2 to lead the offense for the Bulldogs.

The junior varsity lost their opener of the season by the scored 13-3.

Lynnsie Wallsmith had two hits and drove in two runs for Central.

On Friday, Kortney Surber had three hits, including a double and triple, and drove in eights runs as Central defeated Frankfort 18-4 at Frankfort.

Central scored in every inning of the five inning contest. Whiteman pitched the first three innings for Central for the win. She fanned five.

Whiteman also had three hits and two RBIs for the Bulldogs.
