Hotel Market Feasibility Study Approved

The Board of Works approved their part of the Hotel Market Feasibility Study on Monday. Mayor Judy Sheets said this study is key for the future of the city.

“As you know, we are getting ready to annex all the way out to (Interstate) 65. So, we need to look forward,” said Sheets. “This study can be used for any hotel that would like to come in to the city of Frankfort all way to the interchange at (State Road) 28 and 65.”

The cost of the study is $12,500 and will be split equally between the city and the county.

The county recently approved the same study as a recent Commissioners’ meeting.

The Board of Works also passed a resolution directing the sale of real estate at 16 N. Main St., in downtown Frankfort. This the former Utility Billing Office and will mark the second time the city has put this property out to bid. It will also have a minimum bid of $60,000 if anyone is interested in purchasing it.
