The Humane Society of Boone County received a nearly $2,000 donation from a Dine and Donate project to further its efforts to help the animals of Boone County.

Humane Society Executive Director Susan Austin announced that the organization has received a donation of $1,950 from the Tipsy Mermaid in Zionsville after a Dine and Donate fundraiser that spanned three days.

“Many thanks to Shari Jenkins at Tipsy Mermaid for hosting three days Dine and Donate fundraising for us,” Austin shared. “Thanks to all that dined. It’s a wonderful way to support us. (I) can’t wait to do this again very soon.”

The Tipsy Mermaid has made a name for itself through the leadership of Shari Jenkins, and only one month after the Tipsy Mermaid opened in 2023, then Mayor Emily Styron declared Aug. 18, 2023 as Shari Jenkins Day in appreciation for her dedication to the Zionsville community where she opened Noah Grant’s in 2009, which was followed by Salty Cowboy and then Tipsy Mermaid.
