Humane Society Of Clinton County Announces No Intakes Of Cats Amidst High Neglect & Abandonment Calls

The Humane Society of Clinton County announced that due to the number of neglect and abandonment calls received by Animal Control over the past few weeks, the shelter will no longer intake any cats unless an emergency intake is established.

The shelter has stated that a waiting list process has begun again for cat intakes, and community members have been encouraged to adopt, volunteer, foster and support the shelter to support the cats that are already residents. As well, the Humane Society highly recommended community members to remain vigilant about spaying and neutering felines.

“This shows all of us how important it is to spay and neuter your pets,” the shelter released. “Due to people being irresponsible with litters, we cannot help those in need of suffering. Please call us for information on spay/neuter, other options of help or to get put on our waitlist in the meantime.”
