The Humane Society of Clinton County released its February 2025 stats for the community to see how the organization has aided the animals of the county.
The organization stated that 33 animals were taken in during the month with 8 cats, made up of 5 strays, zero claimed and 3 surrendered, and 25 dogs, made up of 2 surrenders, 16 strays, 10 claimed, and 7 seized by animal control.
The organization stated that it received 22 calls for Animal Control for the month, which was composed of 5 aggressive animal at large, one neglect, 6 animals at large, 2 bites, one livestock neglect, 2 sick or injured, 2 welfare check, 2 officer request and one other case.
For outcomes, the organization saw 43 adoptions, 26 cats and 17 dogs, and 20 left for foster to adopt on top of adoptions, including 9 cats and 11 dogs. The organization stated that unfortunately two puppies passed away within five hours of arriving at the shelter due to parvo.
