I-65 Northbound Down to One Lane Starting Sunday Night

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the left lane on I-65 northbound will be closed beginning Sunday, September 22 at 9 p.m. until Friday, September 27 at 6 a.m. from the 155 to the 157 mile marker. This is to overlay the deck on the Little Potato Creek Bridge located nearly two miles south of State Road 28. Motorists will be traveling in one 11′ lane during this time-frame.

To assist with traffic congestion motorists can use U.S. 52 north (Exit 141) to S.R. 28 and rejoin I-65 northbound at Exit 158. A temporary traffic signal has been installed at the intersection of U.S. 52 and S.R. 28 to assist with the maintenance of traffic.

Superior Construction Co., Inc. was awarded the $8 million contract. The project on I-65 includes overlaying the deck on the Lauramie Creek and Little Potato Creek Bridges. The work also includes the bridge removal over the abandoned railroad tracks located just three tenths of one mile north of S.R. 28. This project is scheduled for completion in August of 2021.
