I-65 Southbound Will be Down to One Lane South of SR 28

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the left lane on I-65 southbound will be closed beginning Sunday, September 15 at 9 p.m. until Friday, September 20 at 6 a.m. from the 157 to the 155 mile marker. This is to overlay the deck on the Little Potato Creek Bridge located nearly two miles south of State Road 28.

To assist with the maintenance of traffic a temporary traffic signal has been installed at the intersection of U.S. 52 and S.R. 28.

Superior Construction Co., Inc. was awarded the $8 million contract. The project on I-65 includes overlaying the deck on the Lauramie Creek and Little Potato Creek Bridges. The work also includes the bridge removal over the abandoned railroad tracks located just three tenths of one mile north of S.R. 28. This project is scheduled for completion in August of 2021.
