Indiana Airports Receive FAA Grants

Inside INdiana Business is reporting the U.S. Department of Transportation has announced several Federal Aviation Administration infrastructure grants have been awarded to airports across the country. Over $616 million will be awarded this round, with a total of over $3 billion to eventually be distributed from the Airport Improvement Program.

Indiana airports receiving funding: 

  • Anderson-Anderson Municipal/Darlington Field-  $ 2,707,500 to rehabilitate Runway
  • Bedford- Grissom Municipal- $ 86,200 to acquire snow removal equipment
  • Bloomington- Monroe County-  $ 626,278 to acquire aircraft rescue & fire fighting vehicle
  • Connersville- Mettel Field- $ 150,000 to rehabilitate runway
  • Crawfordsville- Crawfordsville Municipal- $ 150,000 to acquire land for approaches
  • Danville- Hendricks County/Gordon Graham Field- $ 79,560 to build terminal building
  • Delphi- Delphi Municipal- $ 550,000 to extend runway
  • Fort Wayne- Fort Wayne International- $ 5,440,720 to rehabilitate runway
  • French Lick- French Lick Municipal- $ 209,997 to groove runway
  • Gary- Gary/Chicago International- $ 4,750,000 to rehabilitate runway
  • Greenwood- Indy South Greenwood- $ 383,490 to construct taxiway
  • Huntington- Huntington Municipal- $ 150,000 to rehabilitate runway
  • Indianapolis- Eagle Creek Airpark-  $ 2,825,000 to construct taxiway
  • Indianapolis- Indianapolis International – $ 2,441,530 to reconstruct taxiway
  • Indianapolis- Indianapolis International- $ 630,513 to acquire aircraft rescue & fire fighting vehicle
  • Indianapolis- Indianapolis International-  $ 262,500 to conduct noise compatibility plan study

  • Monticello- White County MCX- $ 278,100 to conduct environmental study, conduct miscellaneous study, remove obstructions
  • New Castle- New Castle/Henry Co Municipal- $ 147,330 to acquire snow removal equipment, wildlife hazard assessments
  • Paoli- Paoli Municipal- $ 832,500 to extend runway
  • South Bend- South Bend International- $ 1,985,354 to install airfield guidance signs
  • Sullivan- Sullivan County- $ 418,564 to improve fuel farm
  • Terre Haute- Terre Haute Regional-  $ 612,900 to rehabilitate taxiway
