Inside INdiana Business is reporting that a longstanding tradition of Indiana agriculture is feeling the effects of COVID-19. Organizers of the Indiana Farm Equipment and Technology Expo have announced the 2020 show, scheduled for December, will not take place.
“This was a difficult decision,” said Gary Truitt of Hoosier Ag Today and Gary Thoe, president of MidCountry Media Inc, who own and operate the show. “We feel is in the long-term best interest of those who exhibit and attend.”
In a statement, show organizers said with safety protocols in place it is “impossible to operate the show in a way that will be beneficial and enjoyable for both exhibitors and attendees.”
The show typically draws thousands of visitors to see some of the latest technology and innovation in farm equipment.
While this year’s show will not take place, Truitt and Thoe announced plans are in the works for the 2021 show, and at a new location.
The expo is moving to Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield for the next two years.
“This new venue will totally change the look and feel of the show and provide some great amenities for both exhibitors and attendees,” said Truitt.
He said the exhibit area will be larger with expansive height and clearance to better showcase large equipment.
