The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs released 2024 “Year In Review” statistics as it related to local Main Street organizations, including those present in Delphi, Frankfort and Lebanon.
The Indiana Main Street team recently released its statistics, including measurements of businesses opened, volunteers acquired and more across the 35 nationally-accredited Main Street, Indiana Accredited Main Street and Aspiring – Indiana Main Street communities.
According to the report, 143 new businesses opened with 42 businesses relocating into Main Street districts, 196 full-time jobs were created, 126 part-time jobs were created, 1,378 volunteers were acquired with 45,062 volunteer hours recorded with a value over $1.5 million, 196 property improvement projects were completed, 179 public investment projects were completed and 497 events were held with over 1.75 million attendees.
The organization reported that it saw a nearly $27 million public investment and $38 million private investment across all Indiana Main Street organizations.
“Our accredited Main Street organizations are seeing the benefits of the resources and strategies provided by our Indiana Main Street team to help revitalize their downtowns and encourage economic development at the local level,” Indiana Main Street released.
