Just before 9:30 a.m. Friday, Trooper Thomen and Probationary Trooper Smith were patrolling US 231 near County Road 600 North. Trooper Thomen and Probationary Trooper Smith attempted to stop a 2015 Kenworth being driven by Dimitri Robinson, 43, from Merrillville, for a traffic violation. Robinson failed to stop, and troopers initiated a pursuit northbound on US 231.
The pursuit continued northbound to the intersection of US 231 and State Road 18, where the Kenworth came to a stop. Robinson was safely taken into custody and transported to Tippecanoe County Jail.
