CHRISTOPHER WILLIAMS
JONATHAN O’CONNOR

Detectives from the Indiana State Police have worked tirelessly for several months on the case of an alleged abduction and attempted murder that spanned from Indianapolis to Knightstown. The investigation began June 13th, 2018 when officers received information about a female victim who had been located in a wooded area along I-70 in Henry County. Preliminarily, it appeared the young woman was severely beaten and left along the side of the road. It is believed she laid in that ditch unable to move for nearly 24 hours until two alert motorists, who had stopped in the area, heard the woman screaming for help and immediately contacted police. The victim was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, the case was then turned over to the Indiana State Police due to the possibility of multiple jurisdictions involved.

Detective Adam Buell has spent the past several months combing through evidence, following leads, conducting interviews and working with prosecutors. Based on his investigation he has determined the young lady dropped her children off at a daycare in Indianapolis the morning of June 12, 2018. When she did not arrive in the afternoon to pick the children up from daycare police were contacted and a missing person report was filed. It is believed Christopher Williams and Jonathan O’Connor abducted the victim in Indianapolis and drove her to Henry County where she was severely beaten and dumped near the 8400 Block of Grant City Road in Knightstown, Indiana. The victim was discovered in the afternoon hours of June 13, 2018.

Upon review of the case, the Henry County Prosecutor filed for and received an arrest warrant for 34 year old Christopher Williams of Indianapolis. He was arrested December 13 on the preliminary charges of Attempted Murder, Criminal Confinement and Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. He is incarcerated at the Marion County Jail awaiting extradition to Henry County.

34 year old Jonathan O’Connor of Indianapolis was arrested on December 6 for his alleged involvement, he is charged with Criminal Confinement and is being held in the Henry County Jail on a $20,000 bond.

The victim continues to recover from the serious injuries sustained in this alleged attack. This case is not closed and due to circumstances of the ongoing investigation the victim’s identity is not being released at this time.
