INDOT to Close US 35 for Resurfacing and Bridge Work

The Indiana Department of Transportation will close a portion of U.S. 35 near Greentown for a resurfacing and bridge deck overlay project.

U.S. 35 will close just west of the Wildcat Creek Bridge to SR 213. Crews will be doing a new bridge overlay on the Wildcat Creek Bridge and will resurface U.S. 35 in both directions.

This project will be completed in phases. The first phase will begin with the closure on April 1. It is scheduled to reopen in the beginning of October. The phases will resume in the Spring of 2022. Plans will be released for future phases as construction gets closer.

Detour

During the closure, the detour will be SR 19 to SR 26 to SR 13 back to US 35 for westbound traffic. For eastbound traffic, the detour will be SR 13 to SR 26 to SR 19 back to US 35.

There will be some local access during the closure to businesses and homes.

During construction, the public is asked to slow down and be mindful of crews in the area. All work is weather dependent. For the latest information, follow @INDOTEast on Twitter and INDOT East Central on Facebook.
