INDOT to Have 20-Minute Closures on SR 26 Monday

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) advises on Monday, April 9 there will be 20 minute closures on State Road 26 at the Wildcat Creek Bridge, weather permitting. The contractor is beginning the demolition and will be dropping the truss arches from the bridge.

The plan is to begin on Monday around 7 a.m. through noon. Traffic will be allowed to clear the bridge before the next 20 minute closure occurs.

INDOT encourages motorists to seek an alternate route.

The project was awarded to Superior Construction for $4.7 million. This project will replace the bridge on State Road 26 Bridge over the Wildcat Creek and will restrict traffic to one 10′ lane. Traffic will be controlled at the bridge with a traffic signal. This bridge is scheduled to be opened to two lanes of traffic in November of this year.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
