INDOT Will Host Hearing for Proposed Modification

The Indiana Department of Transportation announce plans to modify the interchange at I-65 and S.R. 267 with proposed new interchange construction at I-65 and Boone County Road 550 South. The project also includes minor ramp widening for the existing northbound I-65 exit ramp to Whitestown Parkway and the existing southbound I-65 exit ramp to I-865.

INDOT will hold a public hearing for the proposed project beginning at 6 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 at Whitestown Municipal Complex, Public Hall Room, 6210 Veterans Drive, Whitestown, IN 46075

The purpose of the public hearing is to offer all interested persons an opportunity to comment on the environmental document and related materials for the I-65 enhancements.

The purpose of the project is to improve traffic operations along the I-65 corridor, from I-865 to S.R. 267 near Whitestown, and to provide improved connectivity between I-65 and the rapidly developing area along the C.R. 550 S. corridor. The improvements will address the need to reduce existing traffic congestion along the I-65 corridor, enhance safety, provide pedestrian movements, direct access between I-65 and the rapidly developing area near C.R. 550 S. to serve existing and planned land uses and growth patterns along the I-65 corridor.

Project team members will be available prior to and immediately following the presentation to address questions in the project display area. Information regarding this project will be posted on INDOT’s Crawfordsville District webpage at https://www.in.gov/indot/2701.htm.
