Information brought forward to Sheriff Rich Kelly initiated an internal investigation into a private contractor at the jail, which has resulted in one arrest with multiple felony crimes. The employee was not employed by the Sheriff’s office, but a private contractor. The arrest will be review by the Clinton County Prosecutors office for formal charges.
Once information was brought forward, Clinton County Sheriff’s Detectives, along with the Indiana State Police and Frankfort Police assisted in the investigation. Several inmates are also under investigation, which involves possible additional charges being added by the prosecutor’s office.
The private contractor is cooperating with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released in the near future.
