Just after 2 p.m. Friday, the Indiana State Police responded to a crash on Interstate 65 northbound at the 179 mile-marker.
A preliminary investigation by Trooper Clemans revealed that a 2001 Ford F-150 pulling a trailer was traveling northbound on Interstate 65 in the left lane. For an unknown reason, the F-150 left the east side of the roadway, went down an embankment, and rolled over. As a result of the crash, the driver and the passenger were both ejected from the vehicle.
The driver was transported to a Lafayette area hospital by EMS and later succumbed to their injuries. The driver’s name is being withheld pending identification and notification to the family.
The passenger of the vehicle was transported to a Lafayette area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
