ISP Arrests Warsaw Man on Armed Robbery Charges

On Friday, a three week long criminal investigation by Indiana State Police Detective Wendell Beachy and Warsaw Police Detective Jeff Ticknor led to the arrest of Christopher W. Roberts, 38, Warsaw. Roberts is incarcerated in the Wabash County Jail to face a felony charge for armed robbery. At a later date, he is expected to be extradited to face an armed robbery charge in Kosciusko County.

Yesterday at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers from the Indiana State Police and the Warsaw Police Department executed a Wabash Circuit Court search warrant at Roberts’ home on 2106 East Jefferson Street in Warsaw. The warrant was obtained as part of an investigation into two separate armed robberies which occurred earlier this month. The alleged robberies occurred at a Clark’s Gas Station on State Road 15 and State Road 114 in Wabash County and at the Freedom Express Gas Station at 801 East Center Street in Warsaw. During the execution of the warrant, officers allegedly developed probable cause to arrest Roberts for the two robberies.

Last night at approximately 10 p.m., troopers located Roberts in northern Howard County and arrested him without incident. During Roberts’ arrest, officer allegedly found heroin in his possession. A report will be forwarded to the Howard County Prosecutor’s Office requesting a charge be filed for the possession of a schedule I narcotic by Roberts.
