ISP Spends Morning Targeting Aggressive and Distracted Driving

Indiana State Police conducted a special patrol targeting aggressive and distracted driving this morning on US 52 in Tippecanoe and Clinton Counties.

Between 7 and 9 a.m., troopers issued a total of 14 traffic tickets and 44 warnings. Ten of those traffic tickets were issued for speeding. Also, one commercial vehicle was placed out-of-service for a load securement violation.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), from 2012-2018, nearly 23,000 people were killed in crashes involving a distracted driver.
