A IU Frankfort nurse recently received a special award for her continued dedication and compassion to a patient who strove to recognize her efforts.
IU Health Frankfort Hospital clinical nurse Alicia Johnson was recently recognized for her skill and compassionate care with a DAISY Award after fostering a connection with a recent patient. The nominator detailed the visit.
“From the very beginning, Alicia approached this patient with unwavering patience and understanding,” the nominator wrote. “Alicia consistently went above and beyond to ensure that the patient felt heard and valued, whether it was spending extra time at the bedside, offering a comforting presence, advocating for the patient’s needs or bringing the patient things she liked. In a profession where building relationships is crucial to providing effective care, Alicia stands out as a shining example of what it means to be a compassionate and dedicated nurse.”
