IU Health Frankfort Hospital Earns Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval

Indiana University Health Frankfort Hospital has once again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® in recognition of the hospital’s commitment to
providing safe and high-quality patient care. Gold Seal accreditation is internationally recognized as the gold standard in hospital accreditation.

Frankfort Hospital underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review in December 2023, during which a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated the hospital’s compliance with critical standards that spanned emergency management and infection prevention to patient safety and hospital leadership. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific
literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance.

“It’s a privilege to serve the communities in and around Clinton County,” says Renea Smith, Frankfort Hospital chief nursing officer. “This accreditation is a signal of our commitment to delivering the highest quality healthcare to our patients, close to home.”

This accreditation is valid until December 2026.

“IU Health’s mission is to make Indiana one of the healthiest states, and that starts right here at Frankfort Hospital,” says Mary Minier, Frankfort Hospital chief operating officer. “Our patients deserve top-notch healthcare that meets the most rigorous quality and safety standards, and this accreditation is proof positive that we are delivering what they deserve.”
