
Ivy Tech has 19 campuses throughout the state and Murphy says one-third are typically in fundraising mode at any given time. The money raised from donors supports different needs in each community. “Some have capital needs, some have equipment needs, some have faculty needs, some have scholarship needs,” he told Reporter Mary-Rachel Redman, “so the dollars go to the best possible place that’s going to help a student graduate in two years.”
VSE says donations to the colleges surveyed increased by more than 6 percent last year, compared to the previous year and totaled a record $43.6 billion. The survey has been around for 60 years.
