Jack Harness

Jack Harness, 60, of Frankfort, passed away January 20, 2022 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  He was born on July 18, 1961 in Clinton County to Frank and Annie (Clouser) Harness.  He married Rita Hall on June 16, 2014 and she survives.

Jack was a 1979 graduate of Madison High School and served in the United States Navy 1979 – 1980.  He worked for Prairie Industries for 33 years until they closed and then worked for Frito Lay for 4 ½ years.  Jack loved any sport with a ball especially basketball and golf.  He enjoyed lifting weights and fishing and loved riding his motorcycle with his wife and friends.

Surviving along with his wife: Rita are his Sons: Travis Harness (Companion: Jenny Gyger) of Lebanon, George Vanmeter (Companion: Priscilla) of Tennessee, and Dustin Vanmeter (Fiance: Crystal Hughes) of Tennessee; Daughter: Crystal (Michael) Teaster of Kokomo; Brothers: Frank Louis (Bonnie) Harness, Blake Harness, and Shawn (Rebecca) Harness all of Frankfort; Sister: Theresa Harness of Madison; 12 Grandchildren; 1 Great-Grandchild; Special people in his life: Aunt Kitty Foreman (AKA “Commadoor”) and Cousin Mary Janet Lester; along with Lifelong Friends: Ronnie and Tina Abbott of Frankfort.  He was preceded in death by his parents along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort.  Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
