Jack R. Biery

Jack R. Biery, 91, of Frankfort, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at IU Health Tipton Hospital. He was born December 17, 1926, in Danville, IL, to Ralph and Faye Marie (Gangwer) Biery.  On August 7, 1949, he married Janice Spurgeon; she preceded him in death on July 31, 1984.  In 1985, Jack married Marianne Breitling; she survives.

Jack attended area schools including Beard, Lebanon, Scircleville, and Rossville before graduating from Sugar Creek High School in 1945. From 1945 to 1946, Jack served in the United States Army during World War II.  Throughout his life, Jack was a farmer who was known to be seen enjoying coffee at restaurants especially McDonald’s and Harry’s Coffee Bar.   He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tipton and Kempton Coffee Club.  He had a keen sense of humor and never knew a stranger.  Jack’s faith was very important to him.  He accepted Christ on Friday, December 13, 1963.  He helped start a church that was originally held in his house in 1972, where the pews were lined in the living room.  He also could be seen at the county fair with Farmers for Christ and he had written some Gospel Tracts.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his children, Phillip (Cheryl) Biery, Cathy (Frank) Cofer, and Patricia Biery; step-children Denise (Jeff) Bushman, Nancy (Rick) Timmons, Alan (Stephanie) Hester, and Angela (Jon) Jones; eight step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.

Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Janice, parents, and sister, Barbara Bullock.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 12pm until the time of the service at 3pm at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery.  Memorials in Jack’s name may be made to Les Feldick Ministries, 30706 W. Lona Valley Road, Kinta, OK 74552.
