Jacqueline Sue DeWeese, 83, of Delphi, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Milner Community Healthcare in Rossville.
She was born October 8, 1934, in Owosso. Jackie graduated from Sexton High School in Michigan. In 1958, she married Norman H. DeWeese in Owosso; he preceded her in death on October 6, 2013.
Jackie lived over 50 years in Owosso before moving to the Delphi area. Throughout her life, she held several office positions starting with DeWeese Insurance, then Owosso Memorial Hospital, and later John Wesley College. Jackie retired as an employee of the State of Michigan. She taught Sunday school and was a long-time Gideon’s International Auxiliary member. Jackie’s true passions in life were to be a good mother and grandmother and to be a witness for Christ.
Surviving Jackie are her children, Robert L. (Julie) DeWeese, of Vancouver, WA, Dale N. (Joyce) DeWeese, of Zeeland, MI, and Diane (Eric) Erskin, of Delphi; sister, Nancy (Bill) Thielman, of Perrysburg, OH; sister-in-law, Wanda Willison, of Stanton, MI; grandchildren, David (Seage) DeWeese, Leann (Peter) Ambler, Anna Williams, Amy (Ello) McDonald, David (Whitley) Erskin, Andrew Erskin, Susan Erskin, Megan Erskin, Katrina (Jonathan) Sudduth, and Miranda DeWeese; and six great-grandchildren, Elise, Juliet, Adele, Maria, Jayden, and Aleah.
In addition to her husband, Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Williams.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 1:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Jackie’s grandson, Pastor Peter Ambler, will officiate. Graveside service and burial will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Owosso, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jackie’s name may be made to Milner Community Healthcare for memorial outdoor seating.
