James E. Jones, 93, of Frankfort, passed away May 5, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. He was born February 19, 1932 in Detroit, MI to Norton & Katherine (Becker) Jones. He married Dorothy Scallan on January 6, 1952 and she preceded him in death on October 3, 2019.
James was a graduate of Colfax High School and a lifelong Frankfort resident. He retired from the City of Frankfort Police Department. Following retirement, he worked in maintenance at the Frankfort Golf Course. James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Frankfort American Legion. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed fishing, boating and their cabin on Lake Freeman.
James is survived by his daughters, Pamela (Larry) Miller, Susan (Rick) Montgomery, Judy Donoho and Barbara (Steven) McKibben all of Frankfort, 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by son, Stephen P. Jones and granddaughter, Rachel Kimberly McKibben.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Green Lawn Cemetery.
