James Franklin Fisher, 90, of rural Frankfort, was received by his loving Savior February 16, 2025 at I.U. Health West Hospital, Avon, Indiana. He was born August 12, 1934 in Clinton County to Hugh M. Fisher Sr. and Martha J. (Clark) Fisher. He married Helen L. Allen on June 17, 1956 in Clinton County and she survives.
James was a 1952 graduate of Jackson Township School and a 1956 graduate of Purdue University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army through the ROTC program and also a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity while at Purdue. James was a farmer in rural Clinton County, and a member of The Reformed Presbyterian Church of Lafayette. But most importantly James had faith in Christ Jesus. Christ brought him into a personal relationship while a young man in his 20’s. From then on, his life was changed and he was an ambassador for Christ till his death.
James is survived by his wife, Helen, daughter, Kathryn (Charlie) Kim of Peoria, IL, sons, Stephen (Kathy) Fisher of Avon, James B. (Carole) Fisher of Frankfort, 9 grandchildren; Eric Holler of Lafayette, Mark Fisher of Brownsburg, Lydia Akinbola (Charles) of Indianapolis, Elizabeth Fisher of Brownsburg, Ben Fisher (Savannah) of Indianapolis, Abigail Fisher, Rachel Fisher both of West Lafayette, Joel Fisher, Naomi Fisher both of Frankfort, and 4 great grandchildren; Noah Akinbola, Daniel Akinbola, Elena Akinbola, and Emilia Fisher. He also is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Hugh Fisher Jr. and sister Patsy Fisher (Ranstead).
A private graveside service with immediate family will be held on March 3, 2025 at Green Lawn Cemetery.
