James “Jim” Curtis Dye, 78, of Frankfort, Indiana passed away Friday, February 18, 2022. He was born July 2, 1943 in Chicago, IL and was the son of James and Loreine (Thatcher) Dye.
He graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1961 and received a BSIM from Purdue University in 1967. On June 23, 1979, he married Linda (Miller) Ridgway, who survives. Also surviving are their four children, Scott (Susan) Ridgway of Noblesville, IN, Kevin (Melinda) Ridgway of Greenfield, IN, Wendy (Shawn Elliott) Price of Shelbyville, IN, James (Ashley) Dye of Evansville, IN, six grandchildren, Madison Ridgway of Noblesville, IN, Clayton Ridgway of Noblesville, IN, Megan Ridgway of Phoenix, AZ, Brandon Ridgway of Greenfield, IN, Justin Price of Indianapolis, IN, Kierstin Price of Muncie, IN, and one cousin, Doug (Carolyn) Dye of Valparaiso, IN.
Jim was a US Army veteran, having served in West Germany from 1968-1970. He spent several years as an agent for Shelter Insurance in Frankfort, IN, and he retired from Bailey Trucking in 2017. Jim loved classic cars, the Chicago Cubs, and most especially his family and friends. He courageously fought cancer in his later years, and the family wants to thank all of his doctors and specialists for their incredible care. Jim was a blessing to all who knew him and he will be missed greatly.
