James Michael Thomerson, 68, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024, surrounded by his family at home in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born on November 21, 1956, in Lebanon. The son of the late James Danny Thomerson and Carol Ann (Graham) Miller.
Mike attended Western Boone and graduated from Carmel High School in 1976.
On February 14, 1991, he was married to Julie “Denise” (Williams) Thomerson in Lebanon; she survives.
Mike worked in construction with his dad for several years. He was the founder and president of Management Solutions Construction Services, Inc., where he worked for 30 years, doing what he loved alongside his family.
Mike’s hobbies included restoring old cars and tractors, watching car shows and westerns, working and horses. He took pride in supporting his children through school, 4-H and other activities. Mike enjoyed watching his grandchildren through school activities, sports and all the things they love to do. He was quick-witted, loved to joke around and was a hard worker. Mike was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly.
Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Denise Thomerson; three children, James Nicholas (Melissa) Thomerson of Jamestown, Sarah Jean Thomerson of Indianapolis, and Johnathan Adams (Caitlin) Thomerson of Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Alexis (Kadyn) Thomerson, Sydnee Jane Hysong, MaKensay Lee Thomerson, Alexander Matthew Starnes, Addison Grace Starnes, Brayden Michael Bazile, DeVaughn Lee Perkins, and Aniah Elle Perkins; two brothers, Robert (Kathy) Thomerson of Bloomingdale and Bill (Penny) Thomerson of Thorntown; sister, Kim Summers; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Rickey Ray and two sister, Lisa Ann and Shellie Weaver.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Witham Hematology Oncology Center and Witham Cancer Institute for their dedication, compassion, and their patience in delivering care to Mike over the years.
Funeral Services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
