James R. Maxwell, 84, of Kokomo, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2020 at his home. He was born January 1, 1936 in Kokomo to Lawrence J. and Helen H. (Hendrickson) Maxwell.
He was a 1953 graduate of Frankfort Senior High School, served in the Army from 1955-1957, and graduated from Indiana University in 1959 where he became an I.U. sports fan. He worked as an insurance underwriter of property and casualty insurance and had most recently worked for Farm Bureau Insurance. In 2003 he became a member of South Side Christian Church where he was a deacon and worked on the Outreach Committee.
James is survived by his brother, Larry Maxwell of Lafayette, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services will be held. Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort is assisting with the arrangements.
