Janet Stewart

Janet Mae Stewart, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 2, 2020.  She was born on October 17, 1939, to Eva Fausett in Sugar Creek Township. She was a lifelong Clinton County resident.

Janet married James “Jim” Stewart on August 18, 1956. He proceeded her in death on May 7, 2020.

Janet attended Sugar Creek School and attained her GED from Clinton Central later in life. Janet was a head cashier at Standard then Safeway grocery store from 1961 to 1994. She was also co-owner of James Stewart Trucking with her husband.

First and foremost, Janet loved her family. She also enjoyed flower gardening and backyard nature watching from her kitchen window.

She is survived by her daughters; Sandra (Rick) Workman and Pamela Stewart of Indianapolis, and a “bonus daughter” (aka niece) Jennifer Stewart-Johnson Bundren (Bill) of Zionsville. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Stephanie and Zachary Workman, Jacob and Lynnzie Johnson, and Chase and Izabella Bundren as well as a “grand puppy” Evie Mae.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, mother, and sister Patty McFarland.

Friends are invited to join the family on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 2:00pm for the graveside service in Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirklin. Per the family’s request, masks are required. Pastor Karl Kerchaval will officiate.
