Janet Sue Boice, 85, passed away on Wednesday evening, May 29, 2024, peacefully at her home in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born August 13, 1938, in Indianapolis, the daughter of the late Robert and Leona Mae (Taylor) Sanders.
She was united in marriage in 1978 to John Thomas Boice, Jr. in Phoenix, Arizona; he survives.
Raised in Boone County, Janet attended Whitestown schools. She worked as a bartender at the Whitestown Tavern and Club 39 for ten years. She also worked in home healthcare for the elderly, and she eventually owned her own nursing home in Whitestown for several years.
She held memberships with the Church of Christ in Lebanon and American Legion Auxiliary Post 410 in Whitestown. Janet was a chaplain and Poppy Lady Chairman. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and reading in her spare time.
Survivors include her husband, John T. Boice, Jr. of Lebanon; children, John Robert Eskew of Lebanon, Lynnetta Boice of Lebanon, Angela (Sam) Blubaugh of Danville, and Daniel (Tia) Boice of Lebanon; many God Children; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be made in her memory to the donor’s choice.
