Janet Sue “Suzie” Jacoby, 70, of rural Mulberry, passed away February 20, 2022, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.
Suzie was born March 7, 1951, to Marvin and Doris (Clifton) Clendenning, who precede her in death. She married Donald Howard Jacoby on July 30, 1972, and he survives.
After graduating from Clinton Prairie High School in 1969, Suzie was a secretary at Purdue University, for various attorneys, and also an insurance agency. She was then employed by the US Postal Service as a rural carrier, flat sorter, and administrative secretary in Lafayette until retiring in 2020 after 26 years. She was active in the postal union, a board member of the Tippecanoe Credit Union, and taught basket weaving classes around the county. She also loved her cats and baking; however, when her grandkids were around, all of “Mimi’s” world stopped so she could spend time with them.
In addition to her husband, Suzie is survived by her children, Luke (Becky) Jacoby of Frankfort, and Sarah Jacoby of Falls Church, Virginia; grandchildren, Jackson and Addison Jacoby; sisters, Jerie (Larry) Sagely of California and Peggy (Mark) Loehmer of Westville, Indiana; and brother, Kenneth (Karen) Clendenning of Fort Wayne.
Visitation will be Friday, February 25, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home ~ Mulberry Chapel. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Donna Enersen officiating. Burial will be in Fair Haven Cemetery.
