Jason Tyler Yost

 Jason Tyler Yost, 49, of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at his home. He was born February 10, 1973, in Lafayette to Stephen E. and Ruth E. (Whitlock) Yost. He married Angela Huffman and they later divorced but remained close friends.

Jason graduated in 1991 from McCutcheon High School in Lafayette. He had worked for several years at Brock Grain in Frankfort as a foreman. Jason was a sports fanatic and loved baseball (New York Yankees), basketball (IU), NASCAR, colored pencil coloring, reading, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his daughters. Jason was known as always being friendly and never meeting a stranger. He had formerly attended New Hope Community Church in Flora.

Survivors include his mother, Ruth (husband, James R.) Yost-House of rural Dayton, his daughters, Megan B. Yost and Allison G. Yost of Sedalia; brother, Jon T. (wife, Natasha) Yost of Dayton; maternal grandfather, Harold Ferguson of Mulberry; former wife, Angela Huffman of Sedalia; niece, Helena Yost; nephews, Tanner Yost and Chris Fletcher and an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his father, Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ruby Ferguson and paternal grandparents, Charles and Lola Yost.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Genda Funeral Home ~ Mulberry Chapel, from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Dayton Cemetery in Dayton. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
