Jean Jardine Smith, 76, passed away January 24, 2022, in TriStar Summit Medical Center, Hermitage, Tennessee. She was born August 12, 1945, at Norfolk Naval Base, Virginia, to William and Jean (Schahfer) Jardine. She married Geoffrey Smith on June 15, 1968, and he survives.
Jean was a teacher at Scircleville Elementary School and Clinton Central Elementary School. She was also an antique dealer, appraiser, cashier at G. L. Smith auctions, and receptionist for Dr. T. L. Smith.
Jean is survived by her husband; son, Sean (Tracy) Smith of St. Paul, Indiana; daughter, Samantha (Jon) Cooper of Seymour, Indiana; and granddaughters, Danielle, Taylor, and Kaylee Smith.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Jardine.
Visitation will be Friday, January 28, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home, with Pastor David Klipp officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort, Indiana.
