Jerry Eugene Shultz, 74, of Kokomo, met his Lord and Savior October 2, 2018 at St. Vincent Kokomo hospital. He lived at Jefferson Manor with his wife Barbara. Jerry was born in Anderson, IN February 23, 1944 to the late Esther Mae (Shafer) and Richard Dudly Shultz. Jerry and Barbara married August 23, 1976 in Frankfort, IN. She survives him.
Jerry graduated from Peru High School, class of 1963 and began working for Chrysler Corporation in 1964. He was drafted into the US Army in 1965 and served as a Peace Keeper in Korea, discharging in 1967. Jerry had a passion for racing (attended the Anderson Little 500 for over 50 years) and announced at Anderson, Bunker Hill, Peru and Gas City. He also had a local Television show, “Talk About Racing”. He was an inventor, entrepreneur, actor, comedian, and show promoter. Jerry retired from Chrysler in 2001 after 38 years of service. He attended Incarnate Word Fellowship and served as a custodian for 8 years. Jerry loved people, communicating with others and was a history lover. Jerry loved spending time with his family and friends and creating memories.
Surviving Jerry is his wife Barb, sons Curt Miller, Doug (Shannon) Miller, Deborah (Matt) Jarvis, David (Sarah) Shultz, grandchildren Matthew, McKenzie, Caleb, Cooper, Carter, and Carley, several nieces, nephews and life long friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, infant daughter and his siblings.
A Celebration of Life for Jerry will take place Saturday October 6, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel with Pastor Paul Capps officiating. The family will offer visiting hours prior from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
