Jimmie Jenkins, 83, of Delphi, formerly of Flora, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette. He was born in Flora, Indiana on June 5, 1938 to Charles Ernest and Katherine Wilma (Harrison) Jenkins. He married Irene Ann Gordon on May 23, 65; she preceded him in death on November 25, 2010.
Jimmie was a jack of all trades and worked as a subcontractor in roofing and siding. He enjoyed fishing, spending time in the woods, bird watching, mushroom hunting, going on walks, and cruising on his scooter.
Surviving are his children, James Jenkins (girlfriend, Bridgett) of Lafayette, Katheryn Eykamp of Dixon, IL, Jeff Jenkins (wife, Gayle) of Lafayette, Jason Jenkins, and Kristine Leach (husband, TJ) of Kokomo; brothers, Lenard Robison and Patrick Robison; sisters, Peggy Matthews (husband, Ed), Karen Whitfield (husband, John), and Leanna Brower; grandchildren, Jolene, Andrea, Terra, Shane, Emily, Dustin, Joey, Tabitha, Luke, Michael, Ashley, and Nikki Jo, and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Thomas Jenkins, Kenneth Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, Ronald Jenkins, Charles Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins, Neal Jenkins, Lyle Scott Jenkins, Michael Robison, Richard Jenkins, and Janie Johnson.
