Joe D. Shedron, 73, of rural Rossville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 24, 2019. He was born September 25, 1945, in Cutler, to Marvin and Opal (Walters) Shedron. On September 4, 1970, he married Sharon Cloe; together they shared 48 years of marriage.
After graduating from Carroll High School, Joe served in the Army Reserves. Throughout his life, he was involved in trucking; he was the owner and operator of Shedron Excavating. Joe also worked and retired from Fairfield Manufacturing. He was a member of Cutler Presbyterian Church and loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Joe carried on the family tradition and served for many years on the Rossville Cemetery Board.
In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his sons, Chad R. Shedron, of Mulberry, and Kyle W. Shedron, of Mt. Juliet, TN; six grandchildren, Carolyn, Sophia, Victoria, Cate, Olivia, and Nicholas; sisters, Bon Sheagley, of Cutler, and Sue (Dale) Pullen, of Burlington; and sister-in-law, Jo Shedron, of Cloverdale.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Shedron; brother, Jack Shedron; and brother-in-law, Dean Sheagley.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 12:00 p.m. to the start of the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Allen Weldy will officiate. An inurnment will be held at a later date in Rossville Cemetery. Memorials in Joe’s name may be made to the Rossville Cemetery Association.
