John E. Cardwell, 64, of Kokomo, Ind., passed away March 15, 2024 at Community Howard Hospital, Kokomo, Ind. He was born May 17, 1959 in Tipton, Ind. to Earl “Wayne” & Carolyn Joan (Bitner) Cardwell. He grew up in Kempton and as a small boy, he enjoyed playing little league.
John attended Tipton High School an
d received his GED in Minnesota. He worked in construction in Tipton, Ind. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. John loved fishing, camping and spending time with his family, friends, and especially his great nephew, Harrison.
He is survived by his mother: Carolyn Cardwell of Michigantown, sister: Susan L. Beauchamp of Michigantown, good friend: Graham Manners, who helped care for him, nieces: Melissa (Frankie) Smith of Frankfort, Mandy Beauchamp of Frankfort, April Williams of Lebanon, nephew: Kyle Beauchamp of Peru, and several great nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Omer & Josephine Bitner, paternal grandparents, Basil & Lois Cardwell, father, Earl “Wayne” Cardwell, companion, Melissa Bourff, sister, Pamela Joan Young and brother-in-law, Rodney Beauchamp.
Funeral Services:
Visitation will be 10 a.m. – 12 Noon Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 12 Noon Wednesday. Burial with Military Rites, will be in Kempton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Goodwin Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.
